<p>Founded in 2013, Owlet has taken the pulse oximetry technology used by surgeons to monitor oxygen levels and pulse via the finger and applied it to a wireless sock for babies. Owlet's Smart Sock is able to monitor heart rate and oxygen levels. The sock is connected to a home monitoring device that can provide alerts in case of an emergency and transmit data in real time to a connected app. The aim of Owlet is to provide parents with a sense of security through education and information, and to alleviate their worries about sudden infant death syndrome. The four co-founders of Owlet are all young fathers themselves.</p>
